A devastating flash flood struck Parun, Nuristan, severely damaging the city's commercial centre.
Based on Rushd Charity Foundation's field assessment, many small shopkeepers lost their merchandise, equipment, working capital and their only source of family income.
Residential damage in the assessed area was comparatively limited, while the market and local businesses suffered extensive losses.
Our Goal: $50,000
Rushd Charity Foundation aims to support up to 25 verified small shopkeepers and business owners who lost all or most of their business capital.
Each selected beneficiary may receive up to $2,000 to purchase essential stock or equipment and restart their livelihood.
These grants are not loans and do not need to be repaid.
Who Will Receive Priority?
Priority will be given to those who:
- Lost all or most of their business capital.
- Depended on the business as their main source of family income.
- Cannot restart without financial support.
- Have not received similar assistance from another organisation.
- Experienced death, serious injury or another severe hardship within their household.
If less than $50,000 is raised, available funds will first support applicants with the greatest verified losses and highest level of vulnerability.
